116 years since its inception, The Tiptree Garden Club is still going strong.
It has changed its name twice from the original name in 1903 of The Tiptree and District Horticultural Society, to The Tiptree Garden Club and Horticultural Society in 2000, to its present and more succinct name of The Tiptree Garden Club in 2016 which is more conducive to our current Logo.
This success does not happen automatically but is the result of a lot of hard work and dedication from not only the committee members, but also the other unseen helpers and the people who support our monthly meetings plus our two annual Shows either as an exhibitor or a spectator.
Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) the list of people that I need to thank is far too long and there is always the danger that I might inadvertently miss somebody out, which I have done several times in the past. I would therefore like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everybody involved as without you there would be no club.
Looking back on the past year, our speakers have once again been varied and entertaining and both of our Shows were well supported. As a point of interest we have achieved a reputation for staging some of the best Shows in the area.
As always though, we are always looking for new committee members or helpers to relieve the burden, even the smallest help can make a difference. So please ask yourself, is there anything that I can do to help the club.
Thank you all again for your support and let’s look forward to another successful year and many more to come.
